Citizen Girl and Party Princess

I didn't really enjoy the book because it was sort of confusing. The authors used a lot of lingo that was native to your typical New York City girl, which I am not, so I basically skipped most of the Italian/French sounding words, especially those that starts with capital letters. I admit I'm SO not a city girl >_< not even by KL standard ok!

The only thing I liked about the book is the fact that the authors named the main NPO agency in the book Magdalene. The agency helps illegally trafficked prostitute slaves by finding them decent jobs etc. It was a very nice touch and really brought out the feminist issues the authors were trying to convey.

This book caters to younger readers but I liked it better than Citizen Girl; maybe I'm not as mature as I think I am =(

I loved how Cabot incorporated both psychology and economics into the story. Carl Jung and the demand and supply theory can really go well together *haha* I also loved how snippets of celebrity gossip gets wedged in here and there along with smaller doses of world facts and information.

The princessy stuff was just enough to bring out the girlishness in me without making me puke. I even re-watched The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and would have watched The Princess Diaries as well if I had the DVD ♥

Key to Freedom

I had an early surprise birthday party back in Terengganu thanks to my 8th aunt ^_^ It was really unexpected because when mum told me we were going over for dinner, I thought it was one of those direct sales talk+dinner thingy because they are currently into this Teviron anions shirt thingys -_-''. So I wore a really plain shirt and shorts (I actually only have crappy clothes to wear since I usually pack only crappy clothes back to Terengganu except during CNY). When mum saw, she asked me to change into something nicer but I couldn't be bothered so I ended up looking really plain at my own party...but whatever~~

When we arrived, I was puzzled why a whole group of people started to sing "Happy Birthday". I kept looking around and behind me to see who they were singing to, and was annoyed that nobody had told me in advance that they were celebrating someone's birthday that day, hence making me look like an idiot. In case you are wondering, the party was a whole 10 days early so I didn't make the connection. A lot of people have their birthdays in January ok! >_<

The whole thing only hit me when one of my relative came up to me and wished me 'happy birthday" and asked how I feel. I felt like such an ass then *haha* The only thing I could do was smile and smile n smile =D WOW!

Here I thought my 21st would just be a plain one since we're not really big on doing parties and stuff, but WOW! Even though it was just a family home-style party it felt really nice, and I'm totally thankful =) really!!

There was a whole table full of yummy food (some of which you can't get anywhere else other than Terengganu!! ^_^) and a beautiful cake!!

I really had a great time despite spending most of the time eating, watching TV and facebook stalking my cousin's friends XD I was really happy and I just want everyone to know that =)

~Here are my prezzies~

I got my key pendant necklace and a matching bracelet from grandaunt ^_^

T-shirts from uncle, brother and Fabian's family (left to right)

Mum made me an Eierlikoer cake on the actual day!!
It didn't taste super good because I think she lost practice since it is hard to come by eggnog here =(
but it was still good =)

Other than all those prezzies, I got tonnes of 'angpau' too ^_^
Thanks for helping out with the new laptop *hehe*

I am officially legal and free now.
It sounds really great and all but in reality...
I still live at home...
I still can't drive proper...
I still can't cook proper...
I still can't do a lot of things...
There's still a lot to learn...
I don't really want to grow up...
But I have to...

Here's to 21 awesome years!

Movie Triathlon: Avatar, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Orphan

I had my doubts about the movie, and though the last half of the movie was somewhat predictable, it turned out to better than I expected. I totally love the graphics!! The Na'vi people and their habitat are so beautiful!! No wonder it is by far the most expensive movie to produce.

This is such a guy movie XD The plot twist was kind of cool and unexpected, but the ending was a bit weird. Nonetheless, a pretty good action movie (note that I'm not really an action movie fan).

TOTALLY AWESOME!!! It is so good that I got freaked out during one of the scene WHILE watching it on a portable DVD player squished at the back of an MPV with Amy and Fabian. The plot is really interesting because it totally wasn't what any of us expected. The tag line "You'll never guess her secret" is so true. It is very different from your usual thriller, which is a good thing because they are getting lame, boring and predictable these days. Orphan is really worth watching if you are into horror movies =D
